Challenge of the week: FAIL at something

Challenge of the week: FAIL at something

The other day I was listening to a podcast and came across the story of an incredibly successful businesswoman who…

attributed her success to FAILURE.

Every night at suppertime, her father would ask her and her siblings: “What did you fail at today?”. They’d each answer with their trial and error of the day and apparently, when they hadn’t failed at anything, the father would be quite disappointed. So the kids would sometimes purposely try to fail at something during the day to be able to tell the story at suppertime.

I kind of decided that when I have kids I’d ask them that question too. I don’t know about you, but a lot of my childhood was spent in doing things right, and being good at things, and trying never to fail at anything. The result? I missed out, was very socially anxious, kind of uptight and quite fearful of new things. I imagine some of you can relate :).

So here’s the CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:

Purposely FAIL at something this week.

Good luck! And let me know how it goes on facebook: www.facebook.com/reikimtlChallenge of the Week
